Devotion Day - Oxbow

I want to encourage you to praise Him in the oxbow! (That is the part of the river that used to bend and got cut off and creates a little pond on the bank of it, a place of respite for the fish that are tired! Also a great fishing hole that the fisherman pluck the big fish from!) Remember we are to lift and push up people around us, then God will send someone to push us up! Help them get on their feet! You may be teaching someone who someday will reach millions for Christ!!! (Chris Tomlin is one of those people who got pushed up) Think eternity and get passed the moment, praise and thankfulness! He IS in control, and you are right where you need to be for His moment, let Him prepare the ground you are going to be walking next!

peace that they so desperately need and that can only come
from You. Help them through this grieving time and the time to come.

PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE

Bob Fodge reports that his nephew, who had been reading the Satanic bible and which we have been praying for HAS ACCEPTED JESUS AS HIS PERSONAL SAVIOR!!!!!! He accepted Jesus into his heart last night!

Thank you Jesus for the new celebration of your new son! We ask you for protection over him and to bind the enemy from him. We thank you for his life and ask you to grow him in you. You are SOOOOO good Jesus!!!

Julie Duerr request for prayer....

Julie Duerr has asked for prayer for two of her friends...please see her email below...

#1 Christina Churchill (Church) who attends Crossroads gained a niece on March 1, 2009 she is
still in NICU with lung infection. Parents still haven't held her yet! Please pray for healing and I think that Church's brother and sister-in-law are occasional believers.

#2 Linda who works in the same building has a granddaughter in Children's with B strain of the flu virus and it has attacked the brain stem, she has had several mini strokes and is currently in a coma. She is able to breath on her own but needs to have her lungs cleared often so they may do a tracheotomy this week. Her condition is quite rare and there have only been 50 cases ever reported like hers. She has all the top doctors reviewing her case, the CDC has been in to document her case, they have done a story about her on Channel 9, but we all know that God is the only REAL healer so I ask for prayer for her recovery. Her parents and her Grandmother are true believers and have given her completely to HIM.

Thank you Jesus for hearing our prayers before we request them. We lift up Christina's little baby niece and ask you to heal her lungs. We ask you to give her strength Father and to bring her hope soon. We also life upt the grandaughter of Linda and this virus that has attacked her little body. Father is a case such as this that leaves us helpless, we KNOW that you have ALL things under control. We pray for miracles for these sweet children that you planned at the beginning of time...none of this is a surprise to you Jesus...you are the healer the mighty physician and we trust you with their plans. Thank you Jesus for your compassion and love for these children and for wrapping them in your arms when they are helpless. We know that your touch holds healing...we thank you for the healing you have brought. Thank you for your gift of life both here on Earth and for eternity. We love you with all of our hearts...take each breath and each word and use it for Your glory Father...We ask you all of these things in the name of JESUS! Amen

Prayer

Please pray for my grandmother. She fell and broke her hip in 3 places and has stitches on her face in 3 spots from the fall. We have to put her in a rehab center and that choice is proving difficult. Pray for my mother as well as she feels responsible and this has worn her out significantly from full time care even before the fall. It's been a long week for all of us, trying to cover shifts at the hospital.

Also please continue to pray for my cousin Eric. He is having kidney and back pain and health issues...Salvation has still not happened for him and he is very bitter. His dad, my Uncle (Kent) is having tests right now for his thyroid. They have found something on it and are trying to diagnose it.

And finally...please continue to pray for Dans job...

We know our God is in control...and we trust Him for His plan to be complete in all of this...He is good regardless of circumstance!

Blessings, and Peace to you all
Lori

Children...

Over the last several weeks, I have received, heard, read pretty much you name it on the prayer request battle field....what I have had burden my heart and is more and more each day are the children....I have been overwhelmed at the children that have huge suffering and death...it seems to be growing and there are more and more everyday....so I am asking all of us to lift up children in prayer....a prayer of protection and a prayer of preparation....I believe there is a huge call on these little ones that will be revealed later....please specifically pray against cancer and life threatening diseases, violence and tragic situations....

Father we lift up the sweet children you have placed in our care. There are so many children all over the world and right in our own church that are suffering from horrible disease and we stand against it in the name of Jesus. We ask you Father to make us aware of our surroundings and that we see with Your eyes and pray for these babies of all ages...We pray for their parents, for strength, endurance, and for them to run to You for comfort and wisdom. We love you Jesus, Father, LORD..prompt us Father on when and what to do...we are yours to be used for Your purpose....

Prayer for Payton

Paul Ruffo has asked for prayer for a sweet little girl named Payton who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Below is Paul's email...

The little girl's name is Payton. Her father is Marty and mother is Christine. She has an older sister Kendall. I said that Payton was 2, but I believe she is just about to turn 3.
Right now they are at Boston Children's Hospital, where Payton has begun Chemo treatments. She'll be there for 32 days of chemo and then it's looking like they can go home to Albany, NY and continue the chemo through outpatient visits.
Both parents have a foundational understanding of who God is. I've witnessed on many occasions to Christine, but as far as I know, they are not followers of God. We've been praying for healing, and that God would use this terrible situation for his glory and to reach this family.
Thanks,
Paul

Lord Jesus, we lift up to you sweet little Payton. Father we see so much suffering and when little children are at the root of it it is so hard to understand. We know that you Lord on in control of all situations even when they are so scary to us. You know Payton's needs Father, we ask you for complete healing and we ask you to use this for your glory and to bring as many of the family, doctors, friends, and other patients to you Lord for your gift of salvation. We love you and we trust you and praise you through this storm in this little child's life. In Your Holy Name...

Families needing prayer for the loss of their children...

We have two families we need to lift up in deliberate prayer....please go to your knees and stand in the gap for these families....

Randy Drennen sent this early today- I received this message from Ace VanWanseele and his wife. Ace and his wife both attend Crossroads and he also happens to be the guy that led Billy to me (or me to Billy) after hearing me play guitar… This link is his beautiful little niece... I’m not really sure if there’s anything else I can even say after you see the link… www.caringbridge.org/visit/korib

Thanks for being an outlet for items like this that are almost impossible to even wrap your mind around…Randy

And also The MeCClenahans....who found out after taking their 11month old baby girl Cora in for a 3rd ear infection that she had cancer stage 4 and died 11 days after the doctor appointment for her ear. She died this past Sunday. Please lift up this family...here is their blog on Cora.. themcclenahans.blogspot.com

Lord Jesus...the pain that extends to us from these families is unbearable and yet we know that you are in control. We ask you precious Father to wrap your loving arms around them...extend your grace and mercy during this excruciating loss. We know you have a greater plan and these sweet babies have already been your faithful servants. Thank you for their lives...we stand against bitterness that could arise and ask you to replace it with your peace that passes all understanding. We ask you for comfort for the families and to bring glory to your ultimate plan. We don't understand but we trust you and your hand and we know that you are the life giver. Help us to support these families as you lead us...may we be sensitive to your Spirit as you lead...keep your finger in our sides to continue prayer beyond today. We love and praise you for ALL you do...this is why we praise you...because You are good...You are the Alpha and Omega....the beginning and the end...hold these families in Your comforting loving arms....

Prayer Request

A co-worker of Jill Kahn is in need of prayer...

Please pray for Juan Sanchez. His job may be in jepordy because of the current economic conditions. He has a meeting tomorrow with a Senior Executive and believes that this meeting is to be let go from our company. Pray that God give Juan the guidance and words for that meeting tomorrow, and that if he is let go that he would be able to find a new job quickly. His heart is restless and anxious today and I pray that he is able to relax and trust in him.

Lord there are so many people in need of jobs and provision right now. We know that you Father, YOU are our provider. You are the one that carries us. May we all look to You above all other things for not only provision financially but also for our emotional and spiritual needs. We ask you for peace for Juan and also for his salvation if he does not yet know you Jesus. Thank you for caring for your children above the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. We love you Lord....

Tic-Tock

Hello Warriors...How many of you have spent much time in your own personal worship and prayer time? I mean, not in the car working on this weeks music, or on the computer getting ready for Sunday...but you have actually set time aside to spend with Jesus...Yikes! Did I hear some squealing? It's ok...God is not mad...but...He misses YOU!! He wants that time just you and Him...

You know, my son has been asking me for weeks for a date, just him and me...I keep telling him we will "fit" it in...wrong! I have changed everything to spend time with him this weekend...good thing our Heavenly Father does not "fit us in" can you imagine...we would wait a lifetime for a few seconds...there are way to many siblings for us to wait through.

You don't have the time??? For some reason, when I spend time with God, just one on one...He ALWAYS stretches my time out...my stress level decreases and He increases!!! Since He is the creator of time, He can do whatever He wants with it...including blessing it!

Let me encourage you...God has given you an amazing gift...a HUGE talent...yes you enjoy it and have fun with it. It makes you feel like you have a purpose other than just working! But...my heavenly siblings, that gift was not just given to you to enjoy...it was given to you for a special purpose, to worship your Daddy! He wants to hear you, see you, feel you close to Him...don't hold that back from Him.

If you want to prepare for this weeks worship time...do it by spending time with Jesus...turn off the TV, read His word, even if only for 5 minutes...then turn on your praise music and dance, sing, play, pray..jump around and get excited...yes you will feel kind of funny at first, but...I promise you...you will feel a freedom come over you like never before...dance and praise....right in the middle of your living room...He can't wait to meet you there!!!!

Devotional~~Build'Em Up!!

When was the last time you had someone say something about you that was good? Better yet...when was the last time someone that was a believer say something good about you? We as children of God need to be lifting one another up. Using our mouths to speak the good into lives of our heavenly siblings.
Why is saying a negative natural and something good a challenge? I have several opinions on this. One, well the obvious, it makes us vulnerable. It breaks down walls. It softens hearts! This is when God can move, when we have teachable hearts.
I am looked at as a strong, no nonsense, waiting in line for meekness type of gal. It's strange how we perceive ourselves, because I see myself as fragile, broken, awkward, misunderstood, should I go on? How do we get these images of ourselves? Are we just born that way? I don't believe that we are. I do, however, believe that Satan is at work convincing us from the moment we take our first breath. Disgusting isn't it. What happens then to convince us? When we are little the world is at our finger tips, it's in our hands, we can do anything we want in life. Until when you are in first grade, a classmate says they won't be your friend because you "look funny". Then in 4th grade, they call you stupid because you don't know your multiplication facts...then in 6th grade they leave you milk bone dog biscuits on your desk signifying you are "ugly like a dog". Horrible isn't it. What would you do if you heard someone say these things to a child...I know I would correct them and immediately build that child up in their strengths. We need to do this in the body of Christ.
Why are we so critical? Why are we pointing fingers and judging people. A lot of people will say "I have no room to judge" but do they anyway? Do you ever find yourself saying, " Well, I would NEVER do THAT!" Yes? Then...you have judged...you don't know what you would do in the same situation under the same stress with the same thoughts in your mind. What if we, as Christians, looked at that women that is sitting alone looking frightened and out of place in church, the teenager with the outrages hair, that slouching sloppy man...what if we walked up and said, "How are you today, let's grab some coffee and I'll show you around." or "I love your hair! How fun, you must be incredibly creative!" or "How are you, is there something I can do to bless you today?"
It is a true blessing to see the curve of a smile come to the edge of a mouth that has been turned upside down....that life, could be on a life raft that just got a flotation device tossed into their reach....Pull'em in, pull them in!
